The Houlton International Flying Club was awarded "business" of the year by the Southern Aroostook Development Corporation (SADC) at it's May 10. 2017 annual meeting held at Houlton Regional Hospital. Josh McLaughlin, President of the SADC, stated "We typically award this honor to a business; however, this year we've chosen to give it to HIFC for the positive impact the club has had on the business community both at the Houlton Airport and the Town." Andrew Putnam accepted the award on behalf of the club and encouraged others to feel free and contact the members about joining.
